ABOUT ME
I work with living ecological systems to explore time as a material condition emerging beyond human control.
MY RESEARCH

BIODESIGN
Growing Futures is part of the MUSAE project (S+T+ARTs Residency), promoting collaboration between art and technology. The project explores a design approach where mycelium, robots, and humans co-create biodegradable, adaptable habitats grown through the interaction of living organisms and autonomous systems.

While mycelium is becoming more and more common in design, it's often processed with traditional methods. Growing Futures introduces a mobile, collaborative approach where fungi, robots, and humans grow structures directly on-site, without infrastructure.
RESEARCH
NEGOTIATING WITH ALGAE
Negotiating with Algae: a Site-Responsive Material Practice is part of the MAXRES program, selected by the KoynÄ“ Program, and hosted at the ÖRES Residency. The project explores algae as a living and responsive material system through observation, transformation, and environmental collaboration.
The work investigates ecological temporalities through a process moving from living archive to material experimentation and site-responsive installation. Algae are documented in different states of transformation. Through processes such as boiling, pressing, and drying, they are temporarily transformed into hybrid membranes and surfaces, while maintaining their instability and responsiveness to environmental conditions. In its final phase, the material is placed in open environments where wind, light, and humidity shape its evolution. The project frames design as a negotiation with living systems, where matter and environment co-produce form over time.

EDUCATION
BEYOND BOUNDARIES The potential of bio-based materials
Beyond Boundaries: The Potential of Bio-based Materials is a research and educational project developed through two parallel collaborations at the German University in Cairo (GUC) and with Another Design Lab. The project explores how bio-based materials can transform local waste into valuable resources, focusing on locality, environmental conditions, and material systems.
Through teaching, workshops, and design experimentation at GUC, and material research with Another Design Lab, the project investigates waste as a generative system and develops bio-based prototypes in collaboration with local crafts and communities.
Across both contexts, it frames design as a tool for rethinking waste, resources, and material cycles within specific ecological and cultural conditions.
